Dusty Jessen, Au.D.
Clinical Leadership and Practice Background
Dr. Jessen has served as the director of audiology at Columbine Hearing Care since 2002. She purchased the practice in 2017 and, in 2025, expanded her work as the owner of New Leaf Hearing Care in Arvada, CO.
She is committed to best-practice care and strong outcomes, and she keeps her practice intentionally small so each patient receives the time, attention, and personalized support they deserve.
Education
Dr. Jessen earned her Master of Science in Audiology from Arizona State University and her Doctorate in Audiology from the Arizona School of Health Sciences.
Credentials and Professional Involvement
She is certified by the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) and holds an active Colorado Audiologist and Hearing Aid Provider license.
Dr. Jessen is a Past President of the Colorado Academy of Audiology and is a member of the Academy of Doctors of Audiology, the Academy of Rehabilitative Audiologists, the Entheos Audiology Cooperative, and the Hearing Loss Association of America.
She also serves on the board for the Denver Chapter of the Hearing Loss Association of America.
Community Giving and Access to Care
Dr. Jessen is passionate about making hearing healthcare more accessible. She is a founding member of Hearing the Call – Colorado, a non-profit that provides hearing aids and hearing healthcare for underserved individuals in the local community.
Patient Education and Aural Rehabilitation
Her focus on education and counseling led her to write and publish a patient handbook, Frustrated by Hearing Loss? 5 Keys to Communication Success.
The book is used by hearing care providers worldwide and is a key part of her aural rehabilitation program, 5 Keys to Communication Success.
Personal
A proud Colorado native and devoted dog lover, Dr. Jessen and her family have fostered many homeless dogs over the years. She lives in Centennial with her husband, Ben, and their two sons, Caleb and Brody.
